    TO DISPEL EVIL INFLUENCES

    This traditional spell is worked out with the help of Saint Claire. An egg is placed inside a new glass that has been filled with water. Saint Claire is invoked to bring about peace and harmony into one's life, and a white candle is lit in her honor. This simple ritual is repeated during nine days. At the end of this period, the water from the glass is thrown into the street and the egg is brought to a park where it is crashed on the ground. Saint Claire is invoked again and asked that in the same way the egg was broken, so will evil disappear from one's life.

    The fire is also involved to punish, or as an ordeal, e.g.
    "Fire, who punishest the evil-doer, who hatest falsehood, who scorchest the impure, thou destroyest offenders; thy flame devoureth the earth. Devour if he says what is not true, if he thinks a lie, and if he acts deceitfully."

    These are pronounced by the gypsy sorcerer facing the burning hearth.
    There is another in which fire is addressed as Jandra, and also invoked to punish an offender:

    "Jandra, bearer of thunderbolts, great Periani (compare Parjana, an epithet of Indra, Slavonic Perun), bearer of lightning, slay with thy thunderbolt and burn with thy celestial fire him who dares to violate his oath."

    On the night of a full moon, fill a large bowl with water. Light a red candle and burn some incense. Concentrate on seeing him and his wife together in the water.     BLACK CANDLE SEPARATION SPELL

    Take a sheet of paper and write your lover's name on one end and his wife's name on the other. Light a black candle and musk incense. Tear the paper in half and burn the half with the wife's name on it, chanting while you do so:

    As this paper burns, so did their love,

    FOR MONEY

    A popular cleansing for money is prepared by boiling parsley, parami, witch grass, patchouli, and five yellow roses in several gallons of water. Some honey and money essence are added to the bath after it has cooled. The cleansing is used during five consecutive nights, asking Oshún for the needed money, and burning a yellow candle in her honor each of the five nights.

    FOR MONEY

    This unusual spell is to be used in case of bank loans or any type of financial transaction conducted through a bank. It is important, as the first step, to go to the bank that is handling the loan and get change for a dollar from one of the tellers. Five of the coins thus acquired are placed on a shallow saucer with the name of the bank written on a piece of paper under the coins. Five mint leaves are placed over the coins, and the saucer is then filled with restless oil and a bit of quicksilver. The wick and cork of a night light are set floating over the oil and lit for one hour every day at noon. According to the santeros, the bank officials will not rest until the loan has been successfully approved. It is very helpful to invoke Oshún's aid in this spell. The spell must be repeated for five days, starting the day the loan application is first signed.

    THE MONEY CHARM

    Arrange seven nickels in the form of a cross and burn one candle on each end (four in all). Use Red Candles for financial gain through a marriage. White Candles will bring business gains and an increase in money generally. Black Candles will bring great wealth through an inheritance. Allow each of the four candles to burn themselves completely out.

    RITUAL FOR MONEY

    Sit cross-legged on the floor. Burn incense throughout the ritual. Take a piece of silver (half-dollar) and wrap it in a piece of orange paper. Orange is the color of attraction. Set it before you on the floor. Stand two green candles, one on each side of the money, and light them. Burn High John incense. Concentrate on the wrapped silver and see in your mind's eye the silver multiplying. See it piling up, one coin on top of another. After a few minutes of this concentration, say the following:

    When the grey owlet has three times hoo'd
    When the grinning cat has three times mewed,
    When the toad has croaked three times in the wood,
    At the red of the moon may this money be good.

    Sit for a few minutes and concentrate further on the silver multiplying.
    Repeat the incantation again and then a third time. Blow out the candles—first the left and then the right. Repeat this ritual every Wednesday for three weeks.

    Two garlic bulbs are punctured with a steel nail which is left in to hold both bulbs together.     A red candle is burned every night at sunset for ten minutes, then the candle is extinguished. This continues until the entire candle has been used.     PARADISE SEED LOVE SPELL

    On a night of Venus, mix Paradise seed with musk oil. Take three hairs from your body and lay them on a parchment paper 1 inch square. On the parchment write:

    HABONDIA
    ADONAI
    HABONDIA

    As each hair is placed on the paper, say: "By the strength and power of Habondia and the glory of Adonai, let that that is mine be thine; by the strength and power of Habondia and the glory of Adonai, let that that is thine be mine." Anoint the parchment paper with patchouli oil and burn to ashes. Gather the ashes and place them before the incense after the incense is burned to ash and mingled with the ash of the offering. Seal it in a wooden box for nine days. After the ninth day, mix into the food of the one desired.
